Do Now: Forgive juggling rosters, latecomers who–despite being juniors or seniors–have somehow forgotten the layout of the school, and overly sunny days that serve as a constant reminder of happier times and dive into the meat of why your students are truly there. Try multimedia. Blast your students with film clips of John F. Kennedy or the opening scene from Saving Private Ryan and they’ll all have big smiles on their faces, so big in fact that it might last until next week when you hand out text books.
