Day 58 AIM: How do I positively view my job as a teacher today?

Do Now: The recession is now official and the Dow Jones dropped 680 points yesterday. Lehman Brothers and Bear Sterns are gone. Many other financial institutions are barely afloat and cutting employees left and right. By and large, your job is safe. While the pay isn’t great, the work environment may be “hostile” from time to time, and at times the work load can be terrible, the fact remains that educators have a job. This job is recession and depression proof. If anything, the new administration will pump more money into education to try and address the failing schools. Let’s face it, we may bitch and whine about tough days, but it’s better than losing the dream of the six figure income in a heartbeat.
