Day 62 AIM: How do I deal with winter at school?

Do Now: Take advantage of the fact that it’s cold outside to up your style points with the kids. Add a nice sweater over your shirt, a great scarf, and a trendy jacket. Kids notice that you look nice and you’ll be warm. On a serious note, be vigilant in the winter. We now fall between the two great family holidays, Christmas and Thanksgiving. Students may have terrible family lives, and as such this can be a difficult time of the year. Suicides rise as well as the consequences of neglect.  Children whose parents do not buy them warm clothes may suddenly disappear from your class because they simply cannot go outside. Your classroom is warm, and you can help your kids. Be sensitive to this time of year, and utilize the relationships you’ve developed to ensure that your children are save.
